TRAIN@Ed is an ambitious new postdoctoral fellowship scheme providing researchers from around the world the opportunity to develop their career in one of the world's leading universities.

The deadline for this fellowship opportunity has now passed.

Each Fellow will take part in a dedicated skills development programme designed to help the Fellow establish a sustainable career in research. Fellowships will normally be 3 years long. Training, mentoring, and career development of the Fellows are major features of the TRAIN@Ed programme.

Construction Analytics Fellowship

The University of Edinburgh Business School has an exciting opportunity for a fellowship in Construction Analytics in collaboration with Costain, a UK-based leading engineering and infrastructure company. Costain has a long-term strategic collaboration with the University of Edinburgh focused on business model transformation via data-driven innovation. This fellowship is supported by Costain, Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions COFUND scheme, and the Data Driven Innovation programme.

The aim of this TRAIN@Ed Fellowship is to engage across a number of regional and national major infrastructure projects to investigate opportunities for achieving data-driven innovation in construction by leveraging predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions. The project will be led by Dr Roberto Rossi (Business School) and Tim Embley (Costain).

Eligibility

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science and/or Management Science. Hybrid profiles (e.g. Computer/Industrial Engineering degree and PhD in Artificial Intelligence) are particularly sought.

We are looking for a self-motivated person who is passionate about industry change and will bring their own enthusiasm to make this a success for industry and research. The specific research lines can be set by mutual agreement. Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main work activity (including studying) in the UK for more than 12 months in the past 3 years (not counting holidays or short stays).
