Open to prospective MBA candidates and graduates who are keen to refresh their knowledge, our MBA electives are a great way to stay up to date. Staff and graduates of the University also benefit from a 20% discount on course fees.

Each course has assessment component(s) which, if successfully completed, each participant will receive 10 credits which can be used towards an MBA or Executive MBA.

Please Note: We can only advise on University of Edinburgh programmes, and cannot comment on whether or not it is possible to use your credits for a course at other institutions. This will need to be discussed with them directly, and is at their discretion.

Transferring credits to MBA and EMBA degrees

Before Applying

Before applying for one or more of our MBA option courses, please consider our minimum entry requirements, which include academic qualifications, managerial work experience and English language requirements.

Professional Experience

Normally five years' substantive work experience is required. Experience can be from any industry, including the public sector, charitable organisations or the arts.

Academic Requirement

UK 2:1 honours degree from a good university in any subject, or an equivalent overseas qualification.

If you do not meet the minimum academic requirement, you may still be considered if:

  • you have professional qualifications with substantial work experience or
  • you do not hold a degree or professional qualifications but you have a very strong employment record demonstrating a high degree of responsibility

Course Fees for MBA Option Courses are £1,555 in 2018/19

This includes all tuition and course materials, but excludes any textbooks that may be required. Catering and accommodation are not included. Please contact the Executive Education Team for information on our preferred suppliers and special rates for accommodation.

Fees will be billed through the university fees office. For more information on payment, please contact the University fees office directly.
